TV in the interior of a modern living room or another room, as a rule, serves as a central element around which the design of the rest of the furniture is built. Gracefully fit it into the overall interior of the room sometimes interferes with unusual design of the front panel or too large a diagonal, next to which some piece of furniture can look ridiculous.
TV placement options in the interior
In order for the TV to be not just a means of watching movies, but also organically fit into the design of a living room or kitchen, it should not hang alone on the wall or hang around in the middle of the room. It is necessary to organize its "interaction" with furniture, fireplace and other interior items. Fortunately, in any situation, there are solutions that allow you to harmonize the rest of the elements around the TV.
A large wall-mounted TV is perfectly combined with shelves, photo wallpapers, decorative plaster elements and other decorations. There are several basic ways to decorate a TV so that it does not look lonely on the wall:
- a contrasting color, such as painted mat or spectacular wallpaper;
- decorative frame, the design of which can be made in an extraordinary style, and white polyurethane, wood or foam will serve as the material;
- artificial stone, the color of which echoes the color range of the room (not bad with a fireplace, suitable for a bedroom);
- photo wallpaper, which, depending on the desired effect, can be glued symmetrically or asymmetrically around the TV;
- mirrors and white color are well combined with the TV in the interior of a traditional style (also appropriate for a bedroom);
- the arch or a white baguette from a stucco molding will perfectly fit into classical design;
- You can decorate the TV well, highlighting it from behind, so that it, like a fireplace, will create an atmosphere of unobtrusive comfort (any color can be, even white).
An interesting design decision is to frame a large TV in the living room with a wide gilded frame for a picture, but this option will only look good in a classic interior. Another interesting frame option around the TV is a white sticker with various images, pictograms or an off button in the corner (suitable even for a bedroom or a kitchen).
The combination of TV with different styles of interior
The easiest way to find the best solution in a modern style like hi-tech, techno or minimalism. Even a large TV fits them effortlessly into them. It can be easily underlined and highlighted, creating around it any compositions and types of lighting - all this is already provided for by the styles themselves.
With historical styles like Antique, Egyptian or Romanesque, it is somewhat more complicated. It is not bad to foresee the possibility of hiding the TV, you can stylize it under the fireplace. If the interior of the room contains columns, then the TV can be positioned between them. If there are no columns, you can consider the option to make decorative columns in the form of stucco for the wall out of drywall. Another interesting idea is photo wallpaper depicting the corresponding historical period on the entire wall.
Recommendations for placing the TV in the interior of the living room, bedroom and most other rooms are about the same, but the kitchen stands alone. The TV for the kitchen should be compact and comfortable, it should not interfere, but at the same time, its screen should be large enough so that you can look at it with side vision.
For a small kitchen, a wall-mounted TV with a diagonal of 20 inches or even less is suitable. In the interior of an average kitchen of about 15 square meters, a 25-inch TV will seamlessly fit. The maximum diagonal, which is appropriate for the most spacious kitchens, is 36 inches, otherwise it will be extremely inconvenient to watch from close range.
Finding a place for a kitchen tv can be difficult. Usually they try to place it somewhere higher in the corner, especially if the food is only prepared in the kitchen, and another room is served for meals. In this case, you can mount it in a niche in the wall or make it a part of kitchen furniture, placing it next to the hood and, if possible, creating a stylistic unity in this series.
When considering how to place a TV in the interior of a room, you should not forget that several wires (in a modern TV, three or more) will necessarily go to it, which you must somehow hide. Usually for this purpose a white plastic box, various mounted decorative structures is used. You can also hide the wires in a baguette.
With the same purpose in the design often embed decorative panels or paintings, large indoor plants. If there are creative abilities, you can think of a way to decorate the wires, for example, stick a small white “fence” on the bottom of the wall or arrange a wire in the form of a sakura twig. In the living room you can arrange the TV as a fireplace, stucco around which will hide the wires. The main thing is not to disturb with its design delights the stylistic unity of the interior.
