Mobile partitions - ideal visual zoning (24 photos)

Non-standard room layouts today are a great opportunity to highlight interesting areas at any time of the day. Using mobile partitions, you create your own space and atmosphere. Thanks to a combination of several such partitions, the room acquires multiplicity without losing square meters.

The main function of partitions is the creation of visual zones in the space of the room. According to the type of attachment and movement, the movable and movable partitions are separated.

Portable system (floor) - a separate item that is not attached to the walls, ceiling, floor. Advantage - ease of transfer and the ability to create a "confidential" zone in any place of their own accord. With similar partitions it is convenient to close the head of the bed or to retire in a chair from the surrounding vanity. To a greater extent, perform a decorative function than the separation.

Pluses of the screen:

  • the absence of any special installation;
  • suitable for use in any room;
  • variety of materials used for the manufacture of frames and canvases;
  • the possibility of making different models with their own hands;
  • the simplest movement of the product, which allows you to quickly create / remove room zoning;
  • assembled almost does not take up space and can be stored in a closet / pantry.

Swing model

This is the most famous partition for zoning space in the room. The design consists of a rigid frame and several sashes connected by an accordion type. Wood was originally used as a base, and in modern models metal and plastic are already used.

The doors are fastened with the help of pianos / furniture hinges, and in some models - with the help of strips of thick fabric. The height of the leaf varies from 1.5 m to 1.8 m, and the width can vary from 0.4 m to 0.6 m.

Decorative design of the screen is a wide field for the manifestation of many types of creativity. This is wood carving or forging, painting on wood, decoupage on fabric, paintings on paper. It will not be difficult to choose a product for any style of interior: from baroque and classical to high-tech. If you want to have an exclusive model, then it is quite possible to make a folding screen with your own hands.

Flexible screens

This modern interpretation of the screen consists of a single leaf, which can be bent at will. For storage, the model rolls into a roll, as the rigid side bars are held together with flexible materials.

Single Screen Models

The design of the partition for zoning a room resembles sash models with the only difference - the product is made in the form of one large sash. For stability, such constructions are equipped with legs with wide heels or brackets. Non-standard models have rounded tight or slits for newspapers and magazines.

How to make a screen by yourself

The simplest option is a wooden frame system with fabric canvases. For work you will need: wooden blocks 4x4 cm, drill, screws with hinges, sandpaper, putty, paint, fabric of the desired color, furniture stapler or special nails.

Stages of work

We prepare bars for the frame at the rate of 6 bars 180 cm long and 6 bars of 50 cm each. The surfaces of the blanks are sanded to smoothness.

Assembly of the frame: the long bars are laid in pairs at a distance of 0.5 m. Three short jumpers are placed between the long parts at regular intervals (we retreat from the edges by 0.15 m). The lintels are fixed at the ends of the bars with long screws. In this way, three doors are mounted.

These models have a rigid frame. Profiles are made of different materials: steel, aluminum, wood, plastic. The most popular option is mobile aluminum partitions that do not have permanent attachments to surfaces. Rollers are attached to the bottom frame of the model, thanks to which the structure is easy to move and sometimes folds in a horizontal plane.

  • partial insulating properties (mostly visual in nature);
  • high cost, especially of "smart" mobile partitions for zoning (with artificial light the surface becomes transparent, and with natural light it becomes opaque).
